Davide Contis is a veteran of the Festa del Cactus, known for his special offering of succulent plants of his own production, most of which are suitable for growing in open ground in the latitudes of northern Italy.
This specialty is due to his profession as a gardener which, combined with his passion for succulents, has long since led him to experiment with their use in the creation of low irrigation-based gardens in our latitudes.
In addition to succulent plants, which are generally exotic, Davide’s achievements see the increasing use of Mediterranean xerophytic species (resistant to the dry summer climate), which he reproduces himself in his nursery from seeds, collected on research missions that he carries out when his work permits, in the company of his trusted friend Gabriele Sani (Vivaio Botanica La Romola nursery in San Casciano Val di Pesa – Florence). At the Festa del Cactus David will offer for sale some of the Mediterranean plants he has reproduced.
